Environment,
Sustainability,
& Governance
At Evie, we are committed to promoting sustainable practices and prioritising environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors.
Our overarching goal is to contribute to a more inclusive and equitable society while minimising our environmental impact. We believe in fostering transparency, accountability, and ethical conduct throughout our operations. Our ESG approach involves actively engaging with stakeholders, collaborating with partners, and continuously assessing and improving our practices. By aligning our business decisions with ESG principles, we aim to create long-term value for our stakeholders and positively contribute to the well-being of the planet and its inhabitants.
“Evie Autonomous is fuelled by passion.”
We operate in the fastest, most dynamic technology sector. That means we have a responsibility to use our global platform to be more than leaders. We want to be pioneers. We’re fully committed to sustainable high performance.
We are a team of problem solvers. Where there are challenges, we find solutions. Whether it’s driving technological advances that will help society address the environmental challenges of our time, committing to increase the diversity of our workforce, or supporting those in need within our local communities. Our aim is to always raise our standards and set the benchmark within our industry.
“We started our technology journey two decades ago. We are all in on the urgent race towards a sustainable future today.” -Steven Lake
Our most challenging global problems cannot be solved by governments and non-profits alone. By harnessing the power of our business, Evie commits to positively impact all stakeholders – workers, communities, customers, and our planet.
The Plan
Environmental
Our approach to environmental sustainability is guided by these principles. They underpin our mission to develop world-class technology that delivers measurable environmental benefits:
Measuring our Impact
We will complete annual Impact Assessments to provide us with a score of our impact and guide us on what actions we can take to continually improve. To become an Evie supply chain partner, supplies will need to be assessed and audited and operate with the same values. We want to reduce our CO2 footprint across all scopes and achieve verified Net Zero by 2030.
Designed with the end in mind
Our products will be designed and built with the total cost of ownership well understood and with a circular economy mindset. Materials will be considered not only for their performance properties but also their ability to recycle and recover. Like nature we want nothing to be wasted.
Our pods are driven by electric power trains and can help operators reduce their impact as well as improve efficiency with increased uptime from reduced maintenance burdens. When charged from renewable power we can generate a significant positive impact.
To join our supply chain for the provision of materials and importantly battery technology our suppliers will have to demonstrate auditable provenance and who operate the same values and can provide verification of their processes and impact.
Mitigate, remediate and offset
We have a duty to take action to reduce our impact and offset. We expect to be working with parties to help us offset such as the UK hemp growers association, who produce a plant that has significant ability to take out significant levels of carbon and remediate soil. We will make verifiable offsets to our impact and can help others do the same.
Social
All of these activities aim to create ever-increasing awareness and understanding – both of which are fundamental to creating lasting change.
Governance
The composition of our Board reflects our ownership structure and features a wide range of expertise and experience. They are supported by our Management Committee who drive the day-to-day running of the company and underlying business units.
